Gao'An

I went to Gao'An to see where I was in the orphanage. When I got there, there was a banner welcoming me in Chinese. We took a drive and saw the place that I was found. Then we went to lunch with director Huang, the person who runs the orphanage. When I was in the orphanage, there was another director, but he retired. Director Huang replaced him. Director Huang gave me a banana so I decided to name it Naner Monkey. He was very good to me until the next morning he rotted. I had to say my sad goodbyes when I left him in the hotel to come to Hong Kong. While I was in Nanchang, I saw two ausomest movies. One was about a grandma who was a secret agent spy. She was smart. Then the other movie I watch was my Dad's favorite. It was called The Bourne Identity. I loved it too and now it is my favorite movie. There are two other movies that go along with it and we bought them yesterday in Hong Kong. Last night we watched the second one, but it stopped after 45 minutes. It probably was a fake copy, so we are going out today to by the real one.

Now we are in Hong Kong. Our hotel is fantastic. I just had breakfast. It was the best one I ever had, even when I am at home. I had a apple crisp, a strawberry smoothie, a strip of bacon, cheedar cheese, crackers, and strawberrys. Thats all for now. Ttfn.

Summer Palace Then to Nanchang

Before I left to Nanchang my family and I went to the Summer Palace. It was very big. All of us climed up to the second tallest mansion, it was a long way up but you got a great exercise and the view was spectacular. My family and I could have climed to the tallest mansion but we wanted to get back to the hotel in enough time to get to the air port. The taxi driver took a very long time and I dont think he was a taxi driver because his car was a different color then the others and he didn't have a license and it didn't have the sign on top. He on purposly got us lost and drove a little extra, so he would get a bit more money. But then we finaly got to the hotel, packed our bags, and got in the taxi that took us to the air port. That time it didn't take forever. The plane ride was 2 hours. They gave us dinner and then I read a magazine. We got to the hotel in Nanchang and it's pretty nice. the whole family went down to the bar. Lin and I got ice cream. They were good. My mom and dad got martini's. It was funny because they don't know how to make martini's so my dad had to tell them how to make it. Well I have to go its time for bed. Ttfn. Bye.

The trip to Great Wall of China

Today, my family and I decided to go to climb the Great Wall of China. It was cold and rainy. When we got to the wall, it stopped raining. But it was still cold, so we stopped at a vendor and got sweatshirts that say "I Climbed the Great Wall of China." We had to take cable car up to the top. Then we started to climb. Some of the steps were steep and hard to climb. And some were small and easier to climb. The view was breathtaking! When you climbed up a hill with a bunch of steps it was very hard. It felt like I was going to fall backwards. But luckily I kept my balance. When we were ready to go down a hill, we had to make sure we were very careful because it was very very very steep. After two hours of great exercise we got in our cab and drove back to the hotel. On the way, we saw a cool funky building with a big TV on it and the Bird's Nest stadium from the Olympics. No offense to the Fobidden City, but I liked the Great Wall of China better because you got to walk at your at your own pace, explore and nobody pushed me.

Forbidden City

Yesterday my mom, sister and I went to the Forbidden City in Beijing. It was OK but a little boring. We had a tour guide named Julia who told us everything we needed to know such as regular people couldn't enter the city. Only the Emperor of China, the Empress and the Emperor's other wives and children lived there. They were the only ones who could enter the palace. When I was taking pictures of the Emperor's thrones, people where very pushy. One woman was pushing me and I didn't like it so I stomped on her foot. It was an LOL moment. Then a boy was pushing me so I hip-bumped him very hard. He looked at me as if I was crazy. And I looked at him back like it's your fault for pushing me. I came back to the hotel and went to bed.

On to Beijing

Before we went to the airport in Dalian I lost my cell phone. It was terrible, I knew it was in the hotel room but i couldn't find it. Everybody looked under the bed, in the sheets, in the drawers, and etc... It was no where to be found. So we left without it, we told the hotel people that if you find it to e-mail my dad. I felt really bad because my dad spent alot of money on it, and i thought i was going to be phoneless for a very long time. When I got to the airport in Dalian waiting for the plane my dad took out his laptop and checked his e-mail. He had saw that the people from the hotel left him an e-mail, he read it and it said that they have found my cell phone while cleaning the room. I was so Happy, but it was too late to go back for it so my dad said to either send it to the hotel we are staying in Beijing or send it to my home in the US. I don't know which one they choose to do so i have to wait and see. I landed in Beijing. We found the driver to pick us up and took off to our hotel. Beijing was alot different then Dalian, there was way more things to do. We arrived at the Hotel it was in a tiny alley or in chinese a Hutong. We then ate dinner at a restrant near the end of the alley, it was ok but the people really couldn't speak English and was hoping Lin and I could translate for our parents. But we couldn't so they got someone who could kinda understand us. After dinner my family and I went back to the hotel and went to bed.

Last Day Of Dalian

Today I woke up and went down to eat breakfast at the European restrant. After my family and I came up to our room. My dad got ready to go to his meeting. I did some homework and then im going to pack for our plane to Beijing. I'm so excitedto see the Great Wall of China while im there, but still sad to leave the Furama Hotel in Dalian.

Sunday

Im writing for yestarday since i was to tired to write that day. Yestarday i woke up and went on a family tour for the family's of the people at the confrence. We didn't know wat we were going to do. They took us to a resort that was over an hour and a half away. At the resort I did Target Shooting, Golf, ate lunch, went to the Beach, and went to two Museums. That was the first time I ever done Target Shooting. My favorite places were Target Shooting, Golf, and the Beach. The beaches were different then the US because the sand was coarser and it short of hurt my feet. There was a lot of trash like snack bags, corn cobs, cigarettes, etc... When Lin and i went to buy a towel the women didnt understand what we were saying, so we had to get our tour guide Connie to translate for us. The European women that were with us on the bus bought swimsuits and towels from a vendor and they held their towels for each others as they changed on the beach. I thought it was funnie, they said that they didn't get to go to the baech alot so they didnt want to miss it. After the tour my mom, sister, and I went back to the hotel and crashed.

Yup We're in China

In the morning i woke up and went down for breakfast. We asked if we could eat Chinese and they told us were to go. The Chinese breakfast was interesting, I had noodles, really good fried rice, french fries(i dont think that was too chinese), and a cake. Later my family and I went on a tour of Dalian. We stoped at a park and there was a amusement park next door, we didnt have time to go on any rides so we are thinking of going back. We took pictures with statues doing everyday things like biking, skateboarding, and etc... A Chinese man came up to me and thought i could speak chinese so he gave me his camera and said somthing to me i didn't understand. I got scared and gave the camera to my mom and she took his picture. When we got back to the hotel Lin and I went smimming and then took a nap. When my parents woke me up it was so hard to get out of bed, mymom and dad told me that i looked like i just woke up from a coma. All of us went to a banquet for my dads meeting. The entertainment was amazing, my favorite part was the Contortionist who are people who are extreamly flexible and Trick Cycling. When it was time to go a man thought Lin and I could speek Chinese and told us somthing, but we couldn't understand him. It's after midnight here and im going to go to bed. TTYL, Bye!

I'm on my way!

Hey everyone! I just got off the plane a few minutes ago and i don't have to board the next plane for 2 hours. I'm in the Air Canada Lounge and it is Amazing! you get beverages, snacks, lunch, and wireless internet connection thats why i'm writting. Here in the Canada they speak French and English. The next plane im taking is from Toronto to Beijing and it is 12 hours long. Then I'll have another flight after that. By the time i get to my final destination it will be 9:00 at nite on Thursday (9:00 in the morning back at home).

Getting Ready

I am Lia. I am in 7th grade and I am taking a trip with my family to China. My family is my dad, Jeff, my mom Nancy, and my twin sister Lin. Lin and I were born in China. One of the places we are going is where we were born - Gao An'. I am excited to go except for the long plane ride. I have to pack. This is a lucky trip from me because I don't have to eat any vegetables or drink water. There are germs in the water and I don't want to get sick.
